One can only get genuine
knowledge from shastra. Without relying on shastra, human beings just
follow their material samskaras, being thus easily susceptible to
erroneous concepts.
Apart from vigraha-seva (service to the deities) and go-seva, Maharajji is also involved in sastra-seva. Following the desire of his gurudeva who worked hard to re-establish shastric awareness in Vrindavana, Maharajji has set up a library which houses now more than 10,000 books, among them many rare manuscripts.
Maharajji's efforts to bring closer the true meaning of the shastra
to those without the knowledge of Sanskrit through his Hindi and
Bengali translations are being multiplied by his disciples who are
translating his books into a range of other languages.
